On Friday, June 3rd, the Cumberland High School and Middle School Choirs and Bands traveled to the Music in the Parks Festival Competition in Agawam, MA, where they swept first place awards for all ensembles.
The Cumberland High School Clipper Chorus and Clef Singers, under the direction of Amanda Santo, both earned Superior Ratings. They also each won first place in their respective divisions, with Clef Singers taking home an additional award for Best Overall Choir. McCourt Middle School's Select Chorus, under the direction of Shannan Davis, placed First in the Treble Division with an Excellent Rating, while the North Cumberland Middle School Chorus earned a Superior Rating, under the direction of Thomas Alger. The Cumberland High School Clipper Concert Band, under the direction of Michael Feroce, also won 1st Place with a rating of Excellent, as well as the award for Best Band Overall, while the combined bands of McCourt and NCMS, under the direction of Paul Bowser, also received First Place with an Excellent rating.
